Here is my progress so far, still early on. Going to mess with the mountain forms to make them work for my composition a bit more. Also, still trying to find some good reference for how I want my city to look, if anyone has any suggestions I would greatly appreciate it.
Since your city is attempting to protect a precious stone, I would go with a fortress like exterior like the Citadel at Mycanae or the Citadel of Victoria Gozo. I think the actual structure would be pretty sweet, and give the city a mystical feel if it was inspired by Gothic architecture, or Minas Tirith. Just my thoughts. :) Nice colors though, and I'm interested in seeing the final design.
